My kids and I are obsessed with staycations. We’ve been to so many hotels in Dubai, I should be a certified Staycation Expert!
I was super excited to check out MO since it was my first time there. The entrance is so lavish and oozes of luxury.

Who thought I would reach a point where I would actually know more than 20 dinosaur names? Thanks to my little paleontologist, mama now knows more about dinosaurs and of course when his birthday was approaching, it was a given it would be a Dinosaur theme!
The most stunning hotel! It’s absolutely massive and just perfect for a staycation with the little ones.
The entrance itself is so lavish and inviting. My favorite has to be the outdoor kid’s play area and the endless open space for little ones to run around and get rid of all that energy so they sleep super well at night!
What happened to doctor’s sincerely caring for their patients? Looks like the pharmaceutical companies share it’s profits with the doctors or perhaps they get a commission because the amount of medicines they prescribe is just ridiculous !
I can’t tell you how many times we were given antibiotics before the results were even out. “Just keep them incase it’s positive and you have to take antibiotics” What happens if it’s negative? Which was the case a few times! We ended up with boxes of antibiotics we never used but the insurance was charged for anyways.

Is it just me or is this the MOST asked question to mums? I remember right after having Adam, I had people already asking me when I will give him a brother or sister, and there I was trying to just get back to “normal” with a newborn.
Not only do I find that question unnecessary, it’s also insensitive. Never ask a woman why she doesn’t have kids, when she’ll have a kid or anything to do with kids! It’s just not your business.
What started as Mum’s surprise 60th staycation soon turned into a family staycation. We’ve never stayed at Ritz Carlton JBR before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Although I knew it would be nothing short of amazing since we had stayed at Al Bustan Palace in Oman which is a Ritz Carlton hotel.
We started the day having mum’s birthday breakfast at The Lobby Lounge which was absolutely beautiful and grand. The staff there were super amazing plus they spoke Swahili which made us feel right at home.
Look below at the details on that cake! The jacket looks exactly like the picture I sent the awesome team at Katrina Sweets. They did a fantastic job!!
Let me start by saying I think it’s absolutely RIDICULOUS that we’re even having these types of debates when we can focus on much important topics. I’ve been on both ends. I’ve recently started working part time and it’s just been so hard working and having to take care of the kids and still do all the other things I use to do.
Just because a woman decides to return back to work, doesn’t mean they’re abandoning their responsibilities as a mother. They are still mothers end of the day and still do so much more when they get home. Some families need both parents to work to financially afford everything and we all know having kids isn’t cheap.
And the same goes for stay at home mums, it’s not all rainbows and butterflies and it actually gets so depressing at times. Your life revolves around the kids which means between entertaining the kids, giving them breakfast/lunch/dinner, park time, showers and so on, you have absolutely no time for yourself.
I think the problem is we allow society to set this unrealistic picture of what a “perfect mother” should be and we allow that to get to us and we forever try to prove that we’re perfect without realizing being a mother is emotionally/mentally/physically so difficult already and we add to that even more pressure on ourselves. Who says a perfect mother needs to be a stay at home mother? Who says a working mother isn’t a perfect mother?

How cool is that?? I had no idea I could throw a birthday party at a REAL fire station!! So initially we had agreed on a staycation with Adam and something super small with the family. Then literally 3 weeks before his birthday, his highness decides he wants a party!
Thanks to everyone’s help and suggestion, I came to know about Al Manara fire station, I went the same day and they told me they were fully booked!!! LUCKILY while I was there someone had called to cancel their booking on Friday 8th February (Adam’s birthday was on a Sunday 10th February) I was super happy and couldn’t believe our luck! So we had a venue! Now I had to find someone to cater, someone to provide us with furniture, entertainment and of-course cake / desserts.

We’ve stayed at the Fairmont The Palm a few times and one of the reasons is their Kid’s Club. And also if you’re using an Entertainer voucher you pay for one night and get the next night free so you get a weekend staycation for the price of one night (Thank me later 😉 )
The gorgeous views you see in the pictures below were from our breakfast at the Flow Kitchen where we chose to sit outside. Of-course it was winter then so the weather was just perfect.
I saw snow for the first time when I was about 17/18 years old and the excitement I felt was unreal! I was super happy and over the moon. Of course my friends thought that was hilarious seeing me jumping up and down with joy at the sight of real snow! I was adamant about my kids experiencing the same thing I did, but not as late as I did! 😀
